Guide to Looking Good
1. Polish your paintwork.
Just like your car, your own bodywork needs a little TLC now and then, especially if you’re about to reveal it to a hoard of holidaymakers. The simplest and fastest way to improve the look and feel of your skin is by applying
a little Exfoliating Body Wash to remove dead skin cells and smooth out dry patches. Focus, especially, on the extremities (i.e. your arms and legs) where skin is often driest. Then tackle any spots on your chest, shoulders and back with Anti-Blemish Solutions Body Spray.
2. Faze out the fuzz.
A study of Mensa members might have found that brainboxes tend to have more body hair than dimwits but women still prefer their men to be smooth and soft. So remove unwanted body hair (wherever it may sprout) with one of the new body shavers specially designed for men or, if you’re feeling brave, try a wax treatment.
3. Fix your feet.
Men’s feet aren‘t exactly attractive to begin with but unkempt ones can be terrifying so treat yourself to a pedicure before slipping into sandals – honestly these treatments are great for guys too. Or tackle hard skin at home by throwing five soluble aspirins into a bowl of warm water and soaking your feet for ten minutes. The salicylic acid in the aspirin will soften hard skin and you can then go to work on it with a pumice stone. And if your plates are pale and pasty try giving them some temporary colour with the help of Clinique’s Non-Streak Bronzer – it works a treat!
Did you know...
Heat tends to intensify fragrance, quickly turning your usual aftershave into something more overpowering, so invest in a lighter, fresher fragrance for summer like Happy For Men Cologne Spray which is cool, crisp and citrussy. For an extra zing, chill in the fridge before use.
Tip of the month:
If you want to stay fresher for longer simply trim your pit hair. The longer it is the more moisture it’ll retain and the more odour-causing bacteria it’ll harbour. It’s also worth cutting back on tea, alcohol, coffee and cola in the summer as all of these can increase sweat production.

Q. I hate hitting the beach looking pale and pasty so how do I use a fake tan?
A. The key to getting good (i.e. natural-looking) results from a self-tanner is to make sure that you exfoliate skin thoroughly with a body scrub before applying. That way you‘ll have a smooth, even surface for the active agent in the self-tanner, dihydroxyacetone, to bond to, which means fewer streaks! Make sure the skin is free of soap residues too as they can turn the tan orange. For an all-over, even tan use Clinique’s Self-Sun Body Airbrush Spray or build up the colour gradually with Self-Sun Body Daily Moisturizer.
